Important Debit Card Notice

On May 1, 2024, you can activate your new Energy Credit Union debit card.

Important Update as of April 25, 2024

Due to an issue with our upcoming debit card conversion, you may have recently received a new Energy Credit Union debit card where the CVV was partially printed outside of the defined signature panel on the back. Understanding the importance of being able to read the entire 3-digit CVV, we have made the decision to proactively replace all cards that were recently mailed.

You will be receiving a new Energy CU debit card in the mail shortly which you will need to use beginning on 5/1/24. The new Energy CU debit card will be a different card number than what you received previously. The Energy CU debit card you received previously will stop working effective 5/10/24.

Please accept our sincere apology for any inconvenience this has caused.

If you have any questions, please contact us at 617-325-1999 or service@energycreditunion.org.

Thank you for choosing Energy CU for your debit card needs. We truly value your membership and look forward to continuing to serve you.

In the meantime, keep this card in a safe place and continue using your current debit card as usual.

To activate your card, simply call the activation number from the phone you have on file for this account. Then use your personal information to confirm and activate your card and set up your personal identification number (PIN).

REMEMBER: Your current card will stop working on May 1, 2024 whether you’ve activated the new card or not.

Before May 1, 2024 arrives, take account of any automatic payments that are made with your current debit card. After you activate your new card on May 1, 2024, you’ll want to update your payment information before your next billing cycle. This could include:

  • Monthly bills, like utilities and streaming services.
  • Yearly subscriptions, like your favorite app or online magazine.
  • Payments made irregularly but automatically, like your routine car maintenance, lawn service or pet grooming.

If you use a digital wallet, like Apple Pay®, Samsung Pay® and Google Pay™, you’ll want to be sure to update your information there as well.
